My Birthday

I just wanted to say thanks to Mike and our friends (and neighbors) Jon and Connie Lim for giving me an awesome birthday this week! Jon and Connie made me a terrific dinner Tuesday night. Then we played a new game the boys got me, “Hey That’s My Fish!” until the boys fell asleep. Then we went next door and I got to play Guitar Hero for the first time. I have to say it’s VERY addicting and I didn’t do too bad for a first-timer. Hopefully their housemate, Andrew (it’s his game) will be around a while so I can get a chance to play some more. It’s definitely a great “spent the entire day with two, 2-year olds” stress reliever!

Next week, Mike and I will go to the Yardbird during Jazzfest. Oh, if only my friend Maggie could be here for that!

PS: Is 33 old? Because I didn’t feel old at 30, 31, or 32, but when my baby sister reminded me that she’s turning 25, I felt REALLY old! It didn’t bother me when she was turning 24, but I felt keenly aware that she’s just now entering her mid-20′s and I’m moving quickly into my mid-30′s! I think I might be entering an age crisis. :-)

    Happy Birthday, Shayna! As long as you still have game parties, watch cool TV shows, read great books and have friends come to visit you can claim to be “young at heart” :-)

    It was certainly a memorable birthday :) Thanks for sharing it with us. My favorite was you catching us at Safeway and then us buying the ‘right’ snacks and dropping it off mysteriously at the door :)

    Yeah I was so excited to find the snacks I picked out sitting at my back door when I got home. :-)
