It Only Took 3 Years!

To those of you back home, you will be so proud of me! Finally, three years and one month after moving into our house, we have living room curtains! I know you thought it would never happen. And it all happened because I bought a chair. It’s Capitalism at its best!

So I’ve spent several days over the past 3 years running back and forth to IKEA or Zellers trying out curtains, but I just wasn’t happy with any of them. They either looked like dorm room curtains or like they belonged in someone else’s house. You know someone who keeps their house neat and clean with nice furniture and wait…no kids (at least not mine).

We were in need of a new chair, so I bought one of those POANG chairs from IKEA and a cute little brown throw to go with it. Then it hit me, what about brown? After two different attempts to hit IKEA’s curtain section (the first time Drewie threw a temper tantrum) I found the perfect ones! Yay! Now they’re up and the living room looks a lot different. Now I just need someone to help me hem them. You know I don’t do that.

Wait, wait, wait. . .didn’t you make fun of ME for not having curtains up for years? Weren’t you worried about people looking into your house? :-)

Did you get the same IKEA chair that I have?

(can’t believe I’m commenting on a post about curtains and furniture. . .)

Well…we have blinds. Remember, from the last time you were here?

And I believe Chloe & I actually bought you the curtains, you just never put them up. If you had bought me curtains maybe they would have gone up sooner.

I did get the same chair, only no ottoman (there’s not enough room in the LR) and it’s beige.

(Toby it’s good to see you expressing your interest in home style, it’s been dormant for too long! Ha Ha Ha!)

apparently my blinds are coming in soon! (from sylvia, a real sweetie, who’s hemming them for me!…)
but i plan to come in and sneak a peek at those curtains tomorrow! (and yes, unfrotunately, i am not free tomorrwo night.)

Too bad you’re not closer–my sewing machine has been humming lately. I was told by a lady who works in the fabric store that “chocolate” is the in color this year. So how bout that, Shayna, you’re in! At least until next year…

BTW, I promised to get Tom that same chair for his new office. We’ve almost bought it many times.

Wow, so I’m in? Who would have thought?

I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be to drop my curtains off, along with a load of ironing! It would probably cost too much to ship it, though!

I haven’t forgotten your email either, the frazzled mamma, has been a bit frazzled!

BTW, I really like the chair!
