I can't say enough about laser eye surgery :) After being blind as a bat since second grade I can now see 20/20--at least until I hit 40 and need reading glasses...

As someone who used to have 20-10 and 20-15 vision (my right eye has always been less powerful than my left), I don't think 20-20 is "perfect" vision, but "average" or "normal" or something like that.

[sounds like there could be an inserted Incredibles quote here about everyone being special, but I don't feel creative enough to write it correctly at the moment]

As I have gotten older (or staring at computer screens, or whatever the theory is), my vision has gone down. My right eye is now 20-30 I think, and left is either 20-15 or 20-20.

And I guess I share similar sentiments in the opposite direction - it is hard to imagine always having to have glasses - or not even being able to find the glasses if you put them down somewhere. One of my siblings got contacts in high school, and my dad has really poor vision, and my mom now wears/(can't ever find) reading glasses, so I assume my vision will get worse, but I can enjoy it for now...
