Livestock

Cows and goats are tied up and then moved around to graze, rather than having a fenced in area. This particular cow is enjoying the shade of the palm trees.

Chattle HouseChattle House. Common/Traditional Houses of Barbados
Date: 04/24/2008
Chattle houses are common homes in Barbados. They are built to be moved, so if you want to move to another part of the island, you just pick it up and go. Although it doesn't seem that they use that feature much anymore.

6 (1 of 1)-7.jpgRuined Church and Graveyard
Date: 05/12/2008
We stumbled across this church and graveyard outside of Speightstown in St. Peter Parish. It looked like a war zone. We were shocked to see graves from as recently as 2007. Those were mostly covered with mounds of dirt.
